Balcony was great.
we really loved the staff and rooms. just a couple of metres from santa barbara county courthouse and other touristic attractions. wonderful place if you stay for shopping.
-
Not far from everything in downtown.
-
A stone's throw away from main street.
-
Excellent location, and it also has the Santa Barbara airport located not that far away.
-
I liked the location. The door men were usually friendly.
The elevator is very slow. Wall were a bit thin. Can hear guests leave their rooms.
-
Hotel location was perfect for dinning and shopping. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
No pool, no room service and tv channels were very limited.
-
It was great for location and price. Shopping, dinner and bars all within walking distance. Close to train too.
-
I will never stay at this hotel. Staff were extremely rude when half of our group arrived after hours (they drove from San Diego). Only 1 valet runner who insisted on getting your keys but was never around to get your car. We got hushed at 1:30am and were honestly not even loud. Only reason he heard us was because we took the stairs instead of the smelly elevator and had to climb 4 floors.
-
the location is great. right in the middle of everything. overall clean
hotel staff not very helpful with suggestions on things to do or very helpful with much else. there's no room service of any type and the hotel in general is old and could definately use some updates. we had a queen bed room and it is pretty tight in there. our friends had a king sized room and they had much more space.
-
It was walking distance to everything, shops, restaurants, the beach. Parking was cheap and the continental breakfast was plentiful. The pricng was just right for the accomodations and location. And you can't beat $7 parking!
If I have to pick something, I would say that the bathrooms were clean, but a little outdated. Other than that, no complaints.

The stay was pleasurable and comfortable.
The room was some what small.
-
Great location - right on State Street with all the shops, bars, and restaurants within walking distance. Our room had a window facing State Street - we were worried that it would be loud at night, but we didn't hear a thing because of the double pane windows. The Santa Barbara harbor, pier, east & west beaches are also within walking distance, but it is a longer walk. Rooms were clean and comfortable.
Rooms & bathrooms were a bit small, but considering it is an old hotel, they have been updated nicely. Also, we did not have a fridge in the room. However, there's really no reason to be spending much time in the room at all - go outside and enjoy the many things Santa Barbara has to offer!
-
Very nice Spanish style ancient hotel. Nice room.
The price is rather high. 2/3 of the price would have been appropriate. Parking is charged additionaly. The breakfast - if you would call it breakfast - is included and very very poor. Tip: in the premises is a Starbucks located.
-
Built in the twenties . Loved the location- no driving necessary. Friendly staff. Very clean. Free breakfast.
Liked everything. Room a little small but they arranged furniture to maximize space.

Handy to restaurants, coffe houses. Continental brfst was good.
